We all know what it’s
like to have flashbacks some are good others are bad and they’re usually
triggered by something that was there, a person, a smell, and so on. The last
episode of Grey’s everyone can’t wait to meet Callie’s new girlfriend who Callie is
falling hard for and so they encourage her to bring her to the dinner party at
Meredith, Amelia, and Maggie’s house. Everyone is having a good time laughing
talking when they all hear a knock on the door Meredith says she’ll get it and
goes to the door. What she who sees on the other side of the door wasn’t at all
who she was expecting. One of the doctor’s in charge of taking care of Derek at
the hospital he was sent to after the accident was standing outside her door
next to Callie. Callie smiled excitedly and said “This is my girlfriend, Penny”
and the look on Meredith’s face tells it all. This was at the very end of the
last episode and tomorrow’s will show what will g down and happen next but in
the preview her mind was sent back to the day Derek died and it played over and
over again. She ran grabbed their family picture and went upstairs. She set the
picture on her dresser with the other pictures and the framed post it note vow
her and Derek made. She felt sick so she went to the bathroom and as she looked
into the mirror she pictured it all. The words that the doctor said to her
wouldn’t stop and she was having trouble with dealing with it. Although that’s
all you got to see it shows enough to know it’ll be an intense episode. I’m
anxious to see how this will impact Meredith after she’s got her life on track again
and even though she still hurts from losing Derek she was finally back to her
old self but now she has this happen. Will it set her back or will she be able
to work pass this? How will Callie react when she finds out her new girlfriend is one
of the doctor’s involved with Derek’s care when he died? How will the rest of
the cast react? And does Penny remember Meredith? What will she say to
Meredith, if she says anything at all? So many questions to be answered in
tomorrow’s episode I just can’t wait.

Dr. Callie Torres
Actress Sara Ramirez
plays Callie Torres on the show. She may not be an original cast member but she’s
pretty close. In the beginning she didn’t really fit in with everyone else and
when she started dating George O’Malley she found it really hard to get along
with Izzie, Meredith and Cristina. Over time you see her character grow she got
married to George and then got a divorce, she dealt with George’s death, she
started dating girls and found the girl of her dreams, she got pregnant by her
best friend and almost died in a car accident before having her daughter, she
lost her best friend in a plane crash which also her wife was in and had to amputate
her leg, she watched her marriage fall apart and although she’s gone through
all of that and so much more she still stands strong. She is the perfect
example of strong even when she breaks down every now and again she always gets
back up and tries again. She’s the chief of Ortho, She’s stands up for who she
is and is proud of it, she’s a mother, and I don’t think anyone could disagree
that she’s an amazing person. Like in the last post, she isn’t ashamed of who
she loves and Arizona Robbins and Callie were definitely one of the power couples
of the show. Another spoiler, is Callie has a new gf and Arizona is a little
jealous even though they now are divorced it’s been a tough journey for them
both to let go but they knew they weren’t happy anymore. I think this shows
again how strong Callie is because she’s lost a lot of people she’s loved and
cared deeply for whether by death, or in the other case divorce she found
herself very unhappy and although she did she eventually managed to work pass
the pain and found someone new who made her feel happy again and that isn’t by
any means easy. Like many others on the show she’s definitely someone to look
up to and even though she’s come a long way and it’s just the beginning of
season 12 I feel she going to keep surprising everyone with her strength and compassion
for her job and people. Lastly, I’ll end this with a clip of the
episode from her accident which was the musical episode on the show and a favorite quote by her (shown above).Wednesday, October 21, 2015
The lengths we go to for love…..
Spoiler alert for
anyone who hasn’t watched the season 12 opener. This season started off with a
dramatic story line. For most if not all of us, when it comes to the people we
love we’d go to any length to protect that person, to be with that person, and
show them that we care. In this episode two teenage girls were hit by a train while
“walking to school”. When they bring these two girls in the doctors quickly find
out that this was no accident. They didn’t want to die but they didn’t want to
live in a world without each other. One of the girl’s parents especially her
mom didn’t approve of this relationship so when she came across the letters the
girl’s wrote back and forth to each other in a box, she immediately wanted to
send her away to a special camp that would “fix” her. The girls were both
scared to lose each other so they decided to jump in front of train together.
When Dr. Torres heard this it brought tears to her eyes not only because this
was a beyond sad situation but she knew the pain of being judged for who she
loved also. Dr. Torres is a bisexual woman and has faced her share of ignorance
from people. Hearing how hurt and scared this young girl was made her furious
and although she “stepped out of line” as a doctor by giving her opinion to the
mother while giving an update on the girl, she walked away before letting it
get the best of her. Later on the mother started gaining up on another doctor
who ended up punching her in the face (even though that was very unprofessional
the lady really deserve it in my opinion) and apologizing after. As the show
goes on you see the girl’s father start to show how he really feels about the
situation and even eventually talks to the father of the other girl. The other
girl’s father was taking it rough because his daughter was all he had left his
wife died and he moved to America to give his daughter a better life. In the
end the mom is freaking out saying she’s still making her daughter go to the
camp and being completely rude. When out of nowhere the father steps in and
starts yelling saying she’s not going to camp because her well-being and
happiness matter more to him than if she’s lesbian, they aren’t pressing
charges on the doctor or suing the hospital and if she doesn’t stop he’s
leaving her never to come back and taking their daughter with him. That by far
was my favorite part because while he was yelling this all to her the doctors
were bring his daughter back into the room and she heard every word her dad said.
The ending was so beyond sweet, the girl wrote the other girl a letter and gave
it to her dad to give to her when she woke up. When she did wake up she was
scared and seeing that letter made her happy. That was a great first episode
and it made me even more excited for the rest of the season.

The Grey in Grey's Anatomy...
Ellen Pompeo plays Meredith Grey,
the main character of the show. It gives you the inside view of her life. She
faced many struggles growing up like seeing her mom pick her job over her and having her family in a mess that has made her both cold in ways but also a
very strong and talented surgeon. From the beginning and who she is in season
12 is a total change from the situations she faced, to falling I love, becoming
a mother and losing those who meant most to her. Although she has changed about
her some things stay the same and one of them being she’s still as strong as
she was from the start.
One of my many favorite scenes of
her would have to be when she tells Derek “I lied. I’m not out of this
relationship. I’m in. I’m so in, it’s humiliating, because here I am, begging…”
and he said her name and she goes “Shut up. You say Meredith and I yell,
remember? Okay. Here it is. Your choice? It’s simple. Her, or me. And I’m sure
she’s really great. But Derek, I love you. In a… really, really big… pretend to
like your taste in music, let you eat the last piece of cheesecake, hold a
radio over my head outside your window, unfortunate way that makes me hate you,
love you. So pick me. Choose me. Love me.” This is one of my favorites because
she’s not one to just open up about how she feels but she takes these leaps of
courage and tells him how she feels. In this episode and in a few others she
does this and I admire her for that. It’s not always easy expressing how we
feel about people. In this scene though I’m sure it was even harder for her
because Derek had a choice to make on who he was going to be with and she could
have just gave up but she didn’t she stood up and told him just how she felt
even if he didn’t pick her in the end she needed to tell him just how she felt.
There is so much that I admire about
Ellen Pompeo’s Character personality but Ellen Pompeo herself is an amazing
actress. She acts in a way that is so believable and where you can actually
feel what her character is going through. That’s also the same for many of the
other cast members of the show too. When they leave or go it’s hard to accept.
Derek’s death and Cristina’s leave from the show were tragic losses for fans
and seeing how Meredith handles these situations is what makes it even harder
for the fans. I think that this gives some idea of Ellen’s Character but she’ll
be in many posts to come.
